Every year we support local charities with voluntary donations of both our time helping with groundwork projects, donating materials, free labour and cash despite the pandemic, this year is no different.  We fully support the following charities;

Pablo’s Horse Santuary

Pablo’s Horse Sanctuary is a registered horse rescue charity based in Long Clawson, Leicestershire and was founded to ease the suffering of horses and ponies whose owners either could not or would not look after them.  The charity was founded by local woman Carole Fielding and is named in honour of her little grey pony with a crooked leg.  There are currently around 90 horses and ponies being looked after and is run entirely by volunteers, this ensures that 100% of each donation is spent only on the horses and ponies welfare.  Last year we helped them with field drainage issues, sorting boggy field entrances out, donated cash for much-needed feed and donated unused horse rugs.  https://www.facebook.com/PablosHorseSanctuaryNrMeltonMowbray/.

Stephen’s Footprints

Stephen’s Footprints was set up in 2010 by a bereaved mother and her family. It is a self-help group based in Melton Mowbray open to anybody who has been affected by the loss of a baby at any stage of pregnancy, birth or shortly afterwards.

We first got involved with the group through the tragic loss of Brian and Rachel’s first child, Emma, during birth.  They helped us so much as a family and over the years we have been involved with them providing support, awareness, time, energy and help to the charity.  Most notably, Rachel helped to put the bid together to secure a piece of land in Melton Country Park from the Council to build the Baby Memorial Garden and Brian and his brothers also helped to provide the labour to build it.  Our extended family have also helped knitting tiny clothes for prem babies that are distributed to local hospitals around the Midlands.  Families can visit the garden at any time to remember their baby and lay down a memorial pebble. https://www.facebook.com/groups/stephensfootprints
