Meet Brian
Brian is the heart and soul of the business: it was his vision and inspiration, supported by family, friends and advisors that launched BTAC in 2014. Here’s a little bit of background to how it all began.
How and why did you start your groundworks and agricultural business?
Agriculture runs through my blood, I was born into a farming family and have always worked on the land so starting my own business was a natural progression. 25 years of experience in agriculture prepared me well!
What’s been the highlight so far?
For me, being my own boss is brilliant. I really enjoy the versatility of what I do. Seeing the business grow and evolve in such a short space of time tells me that I made the right decision. It’s also very satisfying when customers praise us for doing a good job – and keep coming back to us. Winning “Best New Business 2015” in the Melton Business Awards was a particular highlight.
Why do your customers choose you over your competitors?
They see I have a real passion for what I do. Authenticity always helps. I love the land – it’s part of my heritage – and I gain real satisfaction from being in a position to help my customers control, manage and maintain their land in a profitable but responsible manner.
Experience counts for a great deal in this industry. The skills and expertise that I’ve acquired in agricultural contracting over the last 25 years have been invaluable. Together with a growing team of staff, this makes our business the best.
Where do you see your business in the next five years?
We’ll be looking to expand the services that we provide as well as reinvesting in machinery. I’m keen to help educate young minds in contracting and agriculture so the empire could well be expanding – watch this space.
And finally…what’s your favourite machine?
Got to be diggers!
