Your own swimming pool?

Your own swimming pool?
I have been taking an increasing number of enquiries about swimming pool excavations recently. At BTAC, we undertake all sorts of excavation works and can dig out ponds and lakes for clients all over the East Midlands. However, in recent weeks the trend has definitely been for swimming pools instead. Perhaps it is because the weather has been so sunny or maybe it is because people are thinking that an overseas holiday this summer might not be on the cards? Either way, we have the manpower, tooling and expertise to excavate a pool for you. What is involved?
Earth Clearing
Although it is possible to buy swimming pool structures that sit on a lawn, the majority of outdoor pools in the UK are dug into the ground. This means that they are reinforced on all sides by the weight of the remaining earth, of course. Excavated pools are suitable for the precast fibreglass swimming pool structures that many pool suppliers sell. However, pool construction companies can also make bespoke concrete-lined pools following our professionally carried out groundworks preparation just as easily. As such, we are happy to work on a sub-contractor basis for pool installation firms but we also take earth clearing work on for would-be pool owners directly. Remember that excavating a recess for a pool is just one part of an installation process. For a pool to look really good, you may also need your plot to be levelled out, as well as site clearance and paving stones for finishing. At BTAC, we can fulfil all of these requirements.
Access
We have the expertise to carry out your required excavation work while creating the minimum of fuss. Using excavators in garden sites often means having to be careful around garden structures, like pergolas, but also with tree roots and planted borders. In addition, domestic pools will often present issues with access, something that we are well-versed in and can cope with. Even if we can only access a garden through the inside of a property, it will still be possible to dig out a pool for you with the minimum of disruption. So, don’t think it cannot be done even if you live in a terraced property, for instance.
Equipment
As so many people are looking at a home pool as an investment in their property and lifestyle, I’d like to add that no job is too large or too small for BTAC. We can bring a 14-tonne excavator to site if that is what is required for the largest and deepest pools. Our smaller excavators are one-tonne mini-diggers which are also perfect for many swimming pool excavation jobs. Indeed, we have dug out some by hand before, so all sorts of jobs can be catered for by the groundworks team at BTAC. Whether you want a lap pool, a natural pool, an infinity pool or a sunken hot tub installation, please feel free to make an enquiry.
